Yesterday evening, Jonathan and I took Caleb up to the hospital to meet his little brother. It was so sweet to see him wanting to give Brayden a toy!
Then he got fascinated by all the buttons on the hospital bed!
And of course, we had to get a family photo!
Nathanael and Samantha, may God bless you abundantly as you raise up these two boys to be faithful soldiers of Christ!
Chocolate’s kittens arrived yesterday evening. So how many are there?
Mommy cat is taking good care of them.
The little grey one came out clinging to her mother’s fur.
To the best of our knowledge, Chocolate has six kittens, though it is difficult to see inside the cat house! That’s quite a few for a young mother!

We’ve had some good guesses so far. Any more guesses? And here’s another photo. Notice how fat she is!
It has been feeling more and more like summer. Even the Sunday dessert a week ago looked like it!
But though the BBQ Saturday was a beautiful day, Sunday arrived with rain showers. Notwithstanding, we had a nice afternoon of playing game indoors… Apparently chess playing can begin quite young!

Summer is certainly coming and the warm days draw us outdoors for summer activities. Recently we had the privilege of joining some friends for a BBQ at their farm.
I couldn’t resist seizing the opportunity to get some photos of cows, calves, and horses.
The young ones enjoyed all the space to run around.
And the not so young ones enjoyed themselves thoroughly too, doing things like photographing, horseback riding, and of course, barbecuing! 
I got a lessons on how to drive a tractor, something I’ve wanted to do for years. Happily, Evelyn grabbed my camera and succeeded in photographing the event!
Meanwhile, William was learning to drive another vehicle.

I don’t like coffee – I don’t even care for the smell of it – but Coffee Crisp is OK, especially when it looks like this:
Our heifer, Hershey, calved yesterday morning. I came into the barn just in time to witness the miracle of the calf’s arriving!
This morning the weather promised to be sunny, however it broke its promise and there have been only cloudy skies all day. Notwithstanding we did a short photo session with Coffee Crisp anyway.
I know this green stuff is good for something.

We looked out our window one day and here is what we saw…
Then, when the aunts and uncles came out to see, he volunteered to help with watering the garden. Great job, Caleb! You can never start helping too young!
And praise the Lord for parents who are diligently training their children up in the ways of the Lord!
Though unexpected yet certainly possible in mid-May, this morning’s snow sprinkled a rarely seen beauty to home’s surroundings!
Truly God’s creation is amazing!
The little ones are growing up so quickly! Sunday afternoon, I got out my camera to capture some of the girls’ beautiful expressions.
Then this morning while out shooting the spring flowers…
… I heard a little voice and went spying! 🙂
1,000 is a big number… and a small one.
1,000 days is a long time… and short one.
So much can happen and has happened in that time. There have been:
Joys & sorrows
Laughter & tears
New faces
New places
New priorities
Rejoicing in relationships
Grieving at losses
Developing deeper bonds
– with Christ
– with loved ones
To be more specific:
Sitting on the floor playing with baby toys
Driving for hours together
Talking over lists of names
Figuring out just what to make for supper
Scratching heads over riddles
Organising and reorganising rooms to make everything fit
Learning to hang things from the ceiling
